Chatting for Charity

SystmOne users who help each other are helping TPP help those in need.

A new initiative at TPP sees the Support team awarding points to users who give good advice on SystmOne’s Chatrooms. Every three months, TPP assesses the points they have awarded and makes a donation of £2,000 to the winner's charity of choice.

For years, TPP has used Chatrooms as an extra means of communication alongside its Support Helpdesk. On Chatrooms, SystmOne Users can post messages with queries, problems or suggestions for the attention of TPP experts and other users, creating a real interactive SystmOne community.

TPP has noticed that there are a group of SystmOne users who answer postings with helpful, relevant and constructive advice. These users tend to be those who have used SystmOne for a long period of time and who have become experts, using the functionality to the full and who are so enthusiastic about the software that they want to help others to reach the same level. To encourage this kind of inter-user communication, TPP are now rewarding helpful users with ‘Helpful User Points.’

“It’s great when we see people helping each other out on Chatrooms,” says Alex Gladwell, TPP’s Support Manager. “We always check the content of postings and are seeing more and more people offering sound guidance on how to use SystmOne. This means that when a user has a query and perhaps doesn’t have time to use the Online Help or phone the Helpdesk, they can ask other users through the Chatrooms. Helpful User points show the user with the query that they can trust the advice of the person helping them out.”

Using Chatrooms, it’s easy to see which users are the most helpful. A star beside a user’s name on a posting shows the number of Helpful User Points they’ve been awarded and changes colour as the points increase. A click of the mouse shows users how they compare with others in the Helpful User stakes.

The winners will be announced through Chatrooms quarterly, then the tables will be reset and the next chatting for charity donation will be up for grabs.

TPP hope that before long the helpful user stars all turn from blue to gold, meaning that SystmOne users are making a difference to each other and that TPP are making a difference to worthy causes. .
