Electronic Pathology Test Requesting Live on SystmOne

GP practices linked to a pathology lab using Anglia ICE or Indigo4 software can now take advantage of SystmOne’s electronic pathology test requesting facility.

Two independent pathology test requesting pilots have been completed using Anglia ICE software. Both pilots were a success. Initially, electronic pathology test requesting was only available to practices linking to labs using the latest version of Anglia ICE. Now, however, SystmOne can link to labs using Anglia ICE, and also to Indigo4 software. That means more clinicians and more patients can benefit from a more secure pathology test requesting service.

Using electronic pathology test requesting, you can link straight to the pathology lab’s software, there’s no need to re-enter a patient’s details, and there’s no more writing on samples. You can opt to print stationery with barcodes - just stick the labels on to the sample and when sent to the lab, they can be easily matched to information on the lab's computer. By linking to Anglia ICE or Indigo4 within SystmOne, pathology test requests can be made and tracked easily, reducing scope for human error.

To set up pathology test requesting, a practice must be linked to a lab using Anglia ICE or Indigo4, and the user must have a valid pathology requestor’s code (GMP ID, NMC or Pathology ID - for non-clinical staff).
