In SystmOne's latest software release, new functionality was added enabling
Out of Hours sites using Adastra software to send Patient Incident Reports
to SystmOne GP sites electronically.
The clinical benefits of this integration are clear - the GP can see as
soon as they log on to SystmOne that the patient was seen by an Out of
Hours unit the previous evening. The GP doesn’t need to wait for
practice staff to scan, process and file the Incident Report - SystmOne
has done it all for them.
A Patient Incident Report provides a GP practice with details of an encounter
between an Out of Hours service and one of their patients. The report contains
details of the nature of the consultation, the clinician seen, the patient's
reported condition and the clinician's consultation notes. The GP practice can
add notes and Read codes to the Incident Report before filing it into the patient's
record.
Traditionally, Patient Incident Reports are sent to the GP practice by fax. Staff
members then have to scan the report and file it into the patient's notes. However,
Adastra integration means that the reports can be sent electronically to SystmOne
- no need for faxes. The reports are then matched automatically to a patient,
and filed (manually or automatically depending on the settings configured) into
the patient record. For staff at the GP practice, this saves both time and paper.
TPP spokesperson, Kerry Guthrie says, "We plan to pilot the new Adastra integration
with The Avenue Surgery Partnership in Wiltshire PCT over the coming week. Once
the pilot is complete, Adastra integration will be rolled out on a PCT by PCT
basis."
Interested PCTs are invited to register their interest in rolling out the Adastra
integration in their area by emailing enquiries@tpp-uk.com.
