SystmOne Now an Official GP System of Choice

TPP's clinical software, SystmOne GP, is now officially part of the GP Systems of Choice (GPSoC), a framework of accredited GP clinical systems from the NHS National Programme for IT (NPfIT).

SystmOne GP is being offered by CSC (NYSE: CSC) as a GPSoC solution, making it available from the GPSoC framework with NHS Connecting For Health (NHS CFH) funding.

TPP Director, Neil Toner, says, "TPP is thrilled that SystmOne GP has become an official GP System of Choice. SystmOne is an accredited, strategic LSP solution that will be fully supported long-term throughout the UK. This progress will allow trusts in London and the South who are also deploying SystmOne to Community and Out of Hours care settings to benefit from the 'one patient, one record' concept of joined-up care that SystmOne has pioneered and that is thriving in the North, Midlands and East areas of the National Programme."

Neil continues, "SystmOne GP is currently accredited as a GPSoC level 2 system and we hope to rapidly climb up the levels. We are in an excellent position to achieve level 6, owing to the future integration between SystmOne and Lorenzo."

Newsflash: SystmOne has now achieved 'hosted to NHS CFH standards' accreditation. SystmOne is the only GPSoC system to be both hosted to CFH standards and SCR (Summary Care Record) compliant.

SystmOne is already making excellent progress with GP deployments in the Southern and London regions, with over 60 deployments in the last 12 months in Bournemouth & Poole PCT, Brighton & Hove PCT, Buckinghamshire PCT, Devon PCT, Eastern & Coastal Kent PCT, Medway PCT, Redbridge PCT, Southampton City PCT, West Sussex PCT, and Wiltshire PCT.

Dr Mark Bettley-Smith is a GP at a practice that forms part of the 'Healthstone Medical' group in Bournemouth & Poole PCT and is using SystmOne to create closer working practices between the surgeries. He says, "The idea of linking up the practices came before the thought about which system to use.   We were shown all of the available systems and SystmOne was the one that did what we needed."

Mike Mimms, one of Healthstone's Directors, agrees: "We want to do more collaborative working, sharing about 50% of the work within Healthstone. If we all worked together using the same systems, we'd be in a stronger position if we wanted to bid for tenders or take over other services. We're looking forward to much more collaborative working, utilising SystmOne, in the near future."

SystmOne has enjoyed great success since the start of its involvement in the National Programme for IT in 2004. To date, SystmOne GP has been deployed to almost 1,000 GP practices. SystmOne Community is in use or in deployment in 96% of PCTS in the North East, East of England, East Midlands and Yorkshire & Humber regions, and SystmOne Child Health is in use or in deployment in 86% of PCTs in the same regions. SystmOne Prison is live in 60 prison healthcare units across the UK. The number of patients in the UK who have a SystmOne record is well over 12.5 million.
