TPP Presents Pirate Treasure to LGI's Ward 55
Swashbucklers and buccaneers from Horsforth-based software company, TPP, have delivered a parcel of shipmate booty to the small fry at Ward 55 at Leeds General Infirmary today.

TPP's staff Christmas party this year had a pirate feel, with all employees dressing up as salty sea dogs, in a change from traditional festive themes.
In another break from tradition, the company decided that rather than buying 'Secret Santa' gifts for each other, they would donate their presents to a children's ward at Leeds General Infirmary instead.
Katie Dowson, TPP Christmas Pirate, says, "Every year, we all spend money on Secret Santa gifts, and, let's face it, the majority of them get left behind at the Christmas party, or taken home but never used. We thought that it would be much better to direct that money towards people who need a bit of cheering up at this time of year. The SystmOne software that TPP provides is used in healthcare, so we thought that donating to a children's ward would be quite fitting. We wanted to do something to brighten up the ward. Being in hospital over the festive period isn't nice, I know as my son was once in that unfortunate position and it wasn't fun for him or for me, and so it's great to be doing something to help them out now."
Sharon Edwards, Head of Fundraising at Leeds General Infirmary, says, "Patients and staff on Ward 55 are extremely grateful for the toys TPP have given us today. They will bring an extra smile to the children's faces this Christmas."
The toys TPP are offering the children range from small items that individuals can play with to larger items like a scalextric set and an X-Box. Katie says, "Ward 55 looks after children of all ages, from babies to teenagers, so we wanted to donate a variety of gifts in order to make sure we had something for everyone. The presents are being given to the ward itself so that they will benefit children there not only over the holiday period, but into the new year as well."
TPP's shipmates wish all sea dogs an' land lubbers at Ward 55 the best o'health, a very Merry Christmas an' a happy new voyage!
