CareFusion Spirometers to Integrate with SystmOne
TPP is working with CareFusion (formerly Micro Medical and CardinalHealth), to integrate their spirometry devices and software into SystmOne, allowing automatic transfer of QOF data and patient spirometry results.

CareFusion is a leading manufacturer of spirometers for all applications, pulse oximeters and cardiothoracic equipment. Spirometers are key to the diagnosis and managements of COPD (Chronic obstructive Pulmonary disease), Asthma and other respiratory conditions.
The benefits of an integrated system:
- Much faster and simpler than manual entry
- Avoids the potential for data transcription errors
- Prevents spirometry results being attached to the wrong patient
- Allows more patients to be tested in less time
How does this work?
- CareFusion Spirometry PC software is installed onto the PC
- The spirometer is connected to the PC and the patient is selected from SystmOne
- Spirometry PC software is opened and spirometry performed on the patient as per the recommended guidelines
- Once complete, the user exits the spirometry software and QOF data is automatically transferred into SystmOne
Connectivity made easy:
Most Micro Medical spirometers that can be connected to the PC will allow testing to be performed.
Existing users can easily upgrade their current Spida and SpidaXpert to Spirometry PC software at a reduced cost. Existing databases can be transferred to the new software at the click of a button.
Spirometry PC software allows 'live' tests to be performed or information stored in the spirometer when used remotely to be uploaded when it is convenient for the user.
Spirometry PC software automatically transfers QOF data AND creates and uploads a PDF report of the patient's test including all spirometry indices and graphical representation of the blows, which is then saved to the patient’s records.
