Smooth patient journeys
SystmOne is a complete clinical and administrative system for use across all departments of a hospital, creating a seamless patient journey from the moment the patient is referred to hospital or contacts A&E, to the moment their care is passed back to the GP.
SystmOne has a resource scheduler which makes sure that patients are booked in for the items on their care pathway in the right order and at the right time, improving the patient experience and eliminating situations where, for example, patients arrive for an appointment to discuss an X-ray before having had the X-ray.
Putting patients on the specific care pathway for their condition ensures that they receive the right appointments and procedures in the right order. And if the default pathway doesn't fit the patient precisely, it can be amended, making sure that every patient has the appropriate pathway.
Care plans can be set up for patients to ensure that instructions are carried out at the right time by the right people.
When a patient is discharged from your care, SystmOne smoothes their transition back to primary care. Discharge letters are managed from a single screen and sent to GPs electronically, or printed out, helping you to achieve your 24 hour target.
Integrated electronic records
SystmOne is the first system to deliver fully integrated care across all care settings. Where patients have been treated at other organisations using SystmOne in the past (e.g. at GP/Community/Palliative/Out of Hours/A&E units), the details recorded are available to clinicians at your hospital. This means that a patient's full and detailed electronic clinical record can be made available at any point of care, ensuring that decisions are supported by the full knowledge base about that person.
SystmOne's electronic patient records allow clinicians access to the full patient record and easy data entry. Data entry templates (standard or user or organisation-configured) are available. Free text and coded entries are both supported.
Prescribing at bedside
SystmOne has full prescribing functionality including on admission, regular, as required, parenteral, variable and to-take-out drugs. And because SystmOne can be used on notebook PCs wirelessly, clinicians can prescribe at the patient's bedside, with the full patient record available to them.
Safer handovers
The ability to perform shift handovers from one member of staff to another through SystmOne is of great clinical benefit. Patients and care are transferred directly from one member of staff to another, and a list of notes can be printed out. This means paper isn't passed around or mislaid, and there's no need to decipher handwriting, which makes the handover much safer. What's more, all handovers are audited so staff can see which patients were passed to which member of staff and when.
